What Takahashi is looking for in a college:
NCAA Division 1 school where she can run both cross country and track. Location is important. She would prefer to go somewhere warm. Takahashi is looking for a ‘decent’ size school, 15,000 plus students with a strong running program in which she is in the ‘middle of the pack’ and not the star, so that she can work her way up.

If you love sports and its players, this is a story for you. Another example why atheletics is such a great charecter builder and a positive for any age. This is why I love this site. Gives me the inside on Sports in the place I love. This gal is going to be something, jsut watch.
What a great piece Jake! Whenever we have an outstanding athlete in our area, we only get small”blips” on the TV stations if that. It is so nice to be able to watch a more “in-depth” piece and get to know what will be most certainly one of South Dakotas greats. Thanks for the opportunity to get to know her story.
This is a terrific story; thank you IDS. After several years of watching Madeline on the track, it’s nice to get to know her better through this interview. Also, as a former Oregon track athlete and someone who wants only the best for our West River runners, I have to say: Madeline, no, not Oregon State! It’s Oregon you want. The Green and Gold, Hayward Field, the legend of Pre, Track City USA! Not Beaverton. Eeew.
