(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the Tulsa Oilers and Central Hockey League, announced the completion of a trade today. The Rush have sent the rights to defenseman Gio Flamminio to the Oilers in exchange for future considerations.

Last season, Flamminio finished with 15 points (1g, 14a) in 64 games played for the Rush. In all, the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native appeared in 180 games for Rapid City, totaling 64 points (9g, 55a) and 240 penalty minutes.

Flamminio, a veteran defenseman, skated with the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) during the 2007-08 season where he tallied 30 points in 67 games. His first stint in the CHL was with Oklahoma City during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. While with the Blazers, Flamminio totaled 12 goals and 35 assists for 47 points in 117 games played.
