Behind a complete game three-hitter from Michael Wegehaupt the Aberdeen Smittys downed the Rapid City Post 320 Stars 5-2 in the championship game of the Vern Jark Memorial Baseball Tournament on Sunday.

Despite five free passes, Wegehaupt worked out of a couple jams to keep the damage at a minimum against Rapid City. He also fanned five Stars batters.

Zach Reierson led the way offensively for Aberdeen (25-15) with two RBI while Dalton Cox added an RBI double and Christian Cox contributed an RBI single.

Hunter LaCroix and Tanner Feterl provided the only offense for the Stars, each knocking in a run. Eric Winter, Corey Weidmann, and Danny Bareis had the only three hits for Post 320.

Bryce Mitzel took the loss for Rapid City working five innings, striking out four, and walking four.

Post 320 finished the tourney 2-2 and are now 15-13 overall for the season. They are next in action on Tuesday at home against Chadron, Neb. in a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m..
