Little league has changed a lot we have more Divisions now from 7-18 yrs old … I’ve been coaching Little League for 3 yrs now and rules just keep changing and changing ….. we have few divions now witch is minor division 7-9 yr olds major division witch is 10-12 yr olds, jr division 13-14, senior division 13-15, and big league divison 16-18 yr olds…. when I first got into coaching softball all I heard Asa was better more competative …..well after a couple of yrs … I decided to play Asa teams to see what the fuzz was about….it was just hype we won a couple close games and we loss a couple close games …. All I saw was girls playing softball

I think it’s awesome the league has been up and running for 30 years. When that black hills youth leauge has only been around for like 2 years and it costs like 3 times as much as this league.

I think he should have stayed in Colorado for at least a full season. He was doing great there for the first week or two then he flew way under the radar. Although I think he will do just fine in L.A. I wondered if he would ever end back in Cal, where,he started.

Even though it was great to see Mark play in Colorado, the Dodgers should be a good fit. Mark Ellis should have won more than one Gold Glove already. Maybe getting to play for the Dodgers will help. Mark is a great person and role model for everyone.

To all,
Everthing written was very interesting, but no one needs to justify why Messer was hired and why Collins and the other applicant were not hired. Mitch Messer is a very good baseball coach and I think they made a smart decision. I do not know what Dave Collins thought or intended and that does not matter. Best of luck to both baseball program in our town. Steps have already been taken in the right direction.

Unfortunately Dave Cook passed away on January 6, 2011, and he is so missed by family and friends alike. This hockey season isn’t the same without him but I know he is smiling down on the Rush and rooting for them. It too soon will be a year already and I miss him so much. Thanks for all the love and support from all the hockey fans, rhe Rapid City Rush organization and most of all the players who have always been there for me. Jake, thanks for everything. You are special.
