Tanner Chleborad pitching for Post 22 this summer.
Post 22 standout pitcher and Rapid City Stevens senior Tanner Chleborad has officially committed to play baseball and attend Washington State University next fall.
Chleborad spoke with Washington State head coach Donnie Marbut on Thursday night and told him he was going to pitch for the Cougars.
“It feels great,” said Chleborad Thursday to IDS. “I know that this is the right move for me. I went on a visit there last week and I knew on the plane ride home that this was the school I wanted to go to.”
Tanner’s father, Brian, said that the University of Oregon was still pursuing Tanner as of Thursday night, but that ultimately Washington State’s offer couldn’t be refused. Chleborad was also being recruited by almost 30 other schools, but had narrowed his choices down to Washington State, Texas Christian University, Oregon, and Kansas State.
“I have never seen Tanner that excited in my life,” said Brian Chleborad. “It’s a big day for him, one that he is going to remember forever.”
Chleborad will officially sign his letter of intent on Tuesday at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Congrats Tanner! Can’t wait to see you pitch this summer.
Tanner, we are really proud of you. Keep up the good work.
